In order to get the full RPG experience, there are a few set ways to Role Play, there is a lot of lee way, but some ground rules must be set up first.
RP like your writing a book, it's an epic, a beautiful story. Be as detailed as possible, and the longer the posts the better, get really involved in your character, make it so others can truly envision what's going on in their minds. Keep it in the Third Person too, First Person posts are hard to read and annoying. Money will likely be awarded for longer, more detailed posts.
Here is an example of RPing:
Alberto trotted up the gravely ridge upon his Firery Steed, behind him were his army, spears in the air like bristling spikes on a porcupine, cloaked in red, looking like a sea of blood. The horse made it to the top of the ridge, the smell of Sage Brush and Cactus filled his nostrils, it was nearing midday, the sun was blazing, sweat layered on his armor and clothing. At the sight he saw Alberto gripped his Spear ever the harder. Below him, arrayed on the plains, were the greatest host he had ever seen, Saracens, it seemed taken from all the corners of Syria, were arrayed, with their Bamboo Spears and Round, Wooden shields, Scimitars glinting in the sunlight. Horsemen circled, kicking up dust around the flanks of the force, stinging the nostrils. Archers lined the force, their weirdly curved Bows looking Briliant in the sun. The whole force of Saladin stood between him and the Holy Land.
God help us.
It is recommended to make thoughts in Italics, put words in Quotations.
Here are some examples of how NOT to RP:
*Goes to the armory*
hey I need a sword, and cheap, hurry.
*Armorer disappears, returning quickly with a sword*
That is bad, it workd well enough on chat boards when your messing around, but when truly RPing it isn't detailed, is annoying to read, and is a hassle.
Another example:
I went to the armory, walking in the door I spoke to the man at the counter. "I need a sword, and cheap, hurry."
I stood waiting a few moments as the armorer disappeared and returned with a nice sword.
While this is better than the above post, it is annoying to read in a real RP plot, is still not quite detailed enough, and is also a hassle.
If you have any questions on how to correctly RP, post here or PM me.
